Intility Minato – Application platform built into the digital foundation

June 18, 2026

Modern businesses want to give development teams greater freedom and a higher pace of delivery, while at the same time requirements for security, governance, and control keep growing. Traditionally, this has been a trade-off: either you give developers access to the infrastructure and lose some control, or you centralise control and reduce the pace of development. Intility Minato is built to solve this dilemma.

Self-service application delivery without giving up control

Minato is an application platform that lets development teams deliver applications on their own, without needing direct access to Kubernetes, OpenShift, or underlying infrastructure.

The principle is straightforward: teams describe what they want to run. The platform handles how it gets run.

This provides a simpler developer experience, while security, isolation, policies, and operating models are enforced centrally by the platform team, not by individuals.

Built for business-critical applications

Minato is built on OpenShift and GitOps principles. Applications are deployed through a controlled workflow where the desired state is packaged as signed MinatoApp artifacts and managed as a traceable and auditable part of the platform.

The platform acts as the system of record for the application lifecycle, and all changes can be tracked, controlled, and reproduced.

This provides, among other things:

  • Full traceability and auditable history
  • Controlled rollouts
  • Standardised workflows
  • Reduced operational risk

Sovereign by design

Many modern development platforms are built around public cloud services and external control planes. Minato is designed for organisations that want to retain control over their own platform.

The platform can be operated within the organisation's own environments and follows the same principles for security, identity, and governance as the rest of the digital foundation. This makes Minato particularly well suited for organisations with requirements around data sovereignty, regulatory compliance, and long-term control over technology and data.

Isolation as part of the architecture

In Minato, isolation between teams, services, and workspaces is built into the platform, not dependent on users making the right choices. This reduces risk and provides a simpler operating model for both developers and platform teams.

Integrated with AI services in the digital foundation

Minato is tightly integrated with the AI services in Intility's platform. Through integration with Intility Inference, Intility GPT, and MCP, developers can build AI-driven applications without setting up their own infrastructure for language models, agent frameworks, or integrations.

Applications can make use of Intility Inference, Intility GPT, MCP integrations, the organisation's identity model, existing data sources, and security mechanisms as a natural part of the development platform.

An operating model for modern application delivery

Minato is more than a development platform. It is an operating model that gives organisations the ability to standardise how applications are developed, deployed, operated, and evolved through one shared platform, so that a higher pace of delivery does not mean increased complexity.
